SouthCoast's summary of Southampton University:
Nice university with a strong reputation, particularly in research being a member of the Russel group. Most departments are situated on the main campus at Highfield towards the outskirts of Southampton. Though several are on satallite campuses such as Oceanography which is several miles away on the water front and is linked by a bus service. The campus itself is nice and areas of it has really nice rolling parkland feel. There's many new buildings with very good facilities and the Union building itself has been completely renovated. When I went they also guarenteed a place in halls for all first years (though not if you went through clearing). There's a huge number of clubs and societies at the university. Though some of the best balls are the ones held by the halls of residence.

Best Point:
When I first got there it was the places academic and research reputation, but by the time I left whilst still being a great place to study the other things that make your years there enjoyable really caught up making it a good place to have fun in to.

Course Taken:
Oceanography, in the third year you spend a lot of time at the Southampton Oceanography centre one of europes leading oceanographic institutes.
