Summary: Richmond Park is a bit like a country park except it′s in London and so while it feels very country in places it′s surrounded by walls and gates to keep the parks deer in. On a sunny day the car park areas are very busy with Londoners enjoying the sun. Never seen people take a picnic quite so seriously! There′s tonnes of bits to explore, the high light of which might be King Henry′s Mound. Built on an old barrow apparently it′s the highest point of the park, just, and they keep an eye line clear from it to st pauls cathedral. This is the very nice gardens of Pembroke Lodge a former earls home located in the park. Now a restaurant.
